Prologue |
Sesame is recognized one of the most nutritious foods and it has been consumed consistently since ancient Egyptian times. Nowadays it has been discovered that it contains unique anti-oxidant agent called `sesame lignan’ (sesamol).
Carwari International is now the leading company of sesame products in Australia.
It is a Sydney based company and has been in the organic and health foods industry for over 40 years, dealing mainly with manufacture of sesame products.
Our special knowledge and production technique create high quality and nutritious sesame products such as tahini (sesame paste), sesame oil and sesame bars. Our products are exported to various countries. |

Our History |
Carwari was founded by Len Obeid, who brought the trade of traditional tahini production with him from his country in the Middle East. Although Len was aware of easier production methods, he preferred to stand by the traditional methods, as various tests and lab results revealed that this age-old method not only preserved the integrity and nutritional content of the tahini, but also proved that it was better for absorption by the body. Len’s strong passion for delicious, safe and healthy foods led Carwari to produce organic sesame products.
Len's policy and skills are now being carried on by Carwari International. Carwari International changed its management in 2006, and it has incorporated Japanese techniques and culture since this time. Carwari International is now able to produce more varieties of sesame products to meet the demand of various food cultures. |

Carwari uses the highest possible grade ingredients, keeping production done by the best of our traditional methods. At the same time we continue to use modern methods which add even more to the quality of our products.
Our roasting techniques have been increasingly recognized as of the highest standard. The techniques are sought after by the best in the industry as they have experienced how our techniques bring out the most appetizing aroma and taste.
Because Carwari knows how to use the best of both worlds the traditional and modern methods; Arabic, Japanese and Western techniques, it is able to produce products that can cover many markets and many different taste buds. |
