Lentil Balls with Barbeque Sauce (Vegan)

2 - 4 servings


(Lentil Balls)

1/2 Cup Lentils

1.5 Cup Water

3 Mushrooms - Sliced

2 Stalks Cerery - Sliced

1 Cup Walnut

2 Tbs Carwari Organic Japanese Style Thick Barbeque Sauce

1 Tbs Carwari Organic Japanese Spicy Seasoning

2 Tbs Carwari Organic Sesame Flour White

1 Tbs Carwari Organic Extra Virgin Sesame Oil (for sauté the vegetables and pan fry the balls)


Carwari Organic Japanese Style Thick Barbeque Sauce

(Sauce-2: Black Tahini Sauce)

2 Tbs Carwari Organic Black Tahini

20ml Lemon Juice

20ml Water

A pinch of Sea Salt


  1. Make lentil balls. Heat Extra Virgin Sesame Oil in a pan over medium-high heat. Add the veggies with Japanese Spicy Seasoning and cook for a few minutes.

  2. Put lentils and stir. Then add water and bring to boil. Once it's boiled cover and simmer over low heat until lentils are tender and water has evaporated (20-25 minutes). Remove from the heat and let it cool.

  3. After the mixture is slightly cooled, place it into a food processor. Add walnuts and Sesame Flour and process for 5 seconds. Add Thick Barbecue Sauce and process a few more seconds.

  4. Transfer the mixture to a large bowl and form into bite-sized balls.

  5. Heat a frying pan over medium-high heat and add Extra Virgin Sesame Oil. The pan fry the balls. Shake the pan gently a few times and brown all over. (for 4-5 minutes)

  6. Serve with fresh vegetables, Pickled Red Cabbage , Carwari Organic Japanese Style Thick Barbeque Sauce and Black Tahini Sauce.
