Spicy Mirin Teriyaki Tofu (Vegan, Gluten Free)

For 2 servings


300g Firm Tofu

2 to 3 TBS Cornflour

2 TBS Water




  1. Wrap tofu with paper towels and remove excess water.

  2. Cut into dice and coat with cornflour.

  3. Heat Extra Virgin Sesame oil in a pan and fry the dusted diced tofu. Turn them some times and fry until all sides until light brown. Take out from the pan and drain excess oil on paper towels.

  4. Wipe the oil from the pan with a paper towel.

  5. Heat the pan and add Cooking Sake, Mirin and water. Then add Japanese Spicy Seasoning and put back fried diced tofu.

  6. Coat the tofu with the sauce. Stop cooking once the sauce is thicken and turn into shiny glaze.

  7. Transfer to a serving bowl and garnish with chopped chives and sprinkle Japanese Spicy Seasoning.
