Sesame Flour Okonomiyaki (savoury Japanese Pancakes) with Zucchini and Prawns

Ingredients

(Okonomiyaki pancakes)

40g Carwari Organic Sesame Flour White

40g Rice Flour

3 Tablespoons Carwari Organic White Dashi

2 Eggs

2-3 Tablespoons Water

300g Zucchini - Grated

Green Shallot - Chopped

200g Chopped Thawed frozen prawns


(Oil for cooking)

Carwari Organic Extra Virgin Sesame Oil


(Okonomiyaki Sauce)

Carwari Organic Thick Barbeque Sauce

Carwari Organic Agave Nectar Dark


(Topping )

Okonomiyaki Sauce (Mix the above "Okonmiyaki Sauce" ingredients well.)

Japanese Mayonnaise

Gari (Japanese Pickled Ginger)

Carwari Organic Black Sesame Seeds

Chopped green shallot

Katsuo-bushi (Dried Bonito flakes)


Method

  1. Put all of the pancake ingredients in a large bowl and mix well.

  2. Heat a pan and put 1/2 tablespoon of oil. Pour a quarter of the batter and cook over medium heat for 7-10 minutes or the edge of the okonomiyaki becomes firm and cooked.

  3. Flip it over with 2 flippers and cook over additional 5- 7 minutes or the bottom side is brown. Slide it out onto a serving platter. Repeat process with remaining okonomiyaki mixture.

  4. Put the okonomiyaki sauce and mayonnaise and sprinkle your favourite garnishes.
