Tamari & Onion Dressing (Vegan, Gluten-Free)

Onion dressing is very popular in Japan.

It has milder taste as onion is cooked and deeper umami flavour as Shio Koji is added.

It's very versatile and you can use it not only as a salad dressing but also sauce for grilled/pan fried/deep fried fish, meat, tofu and vegetables.




Ingredients

(Dressing)

1/2 Onion

40ml Carwari Organic Tamari Soy Sauce

30ml Carwari Organic Extra Virgin Sesame Oil

20ml Carwari Organic Brown Rie Vinegar

20ml Carwari Organic Agave Nectar

10ml Lemon Juice

1 TBS Shio Koji

(It is made from Carwari Organic Dried Rice Koji ,Sea Salt and water.

Method

1. Chop onion roughly. Place chopped onion and Shio Koji in a stick blender jug and process to puree.

2. Place all other ingredients and the pureed mixture in a saucepan and mix well.

3. Heat it over medium heat. Once it comes to a boil, remove from the heat

4. After it cools down transfer to a sterilized jar and store in a fridge and consume within 3-4 days.
