Beetroot Hummus


450g can of Chickpeas, drained

1 small – medium beetroot

3 Tablespoons Carwari White Tahini

2 Tablespoons Carwari Extra Virgin Sesame Oil

2-4 Tablespoons Fresh Lemon Juice

3 cloves Garlic

1-2 Teaspoon Sea Salt

(Topping – Optional)

Carwari Black Sesame Seeds

Carwari White Sesame Seeds

Carwari Tamari Pepitas

Salt flakes

Coriander leaves


1. Slice the beetroot and cook in a microwave oven for 2 minutes until the surface is soft. (but not totally soft). Set aside to cool it down.

2. Whisk all of the hummus ingredients, except oil in a food processor. Gradually add the oil and mix until the mixture is well blended and smooth.

3. Adjust the taste with lemon juice and salt.

4. Serve with your favourite topping and bread.
